So, after they revealed to us the brief for the coming year and after we were very enthusiastic about it, we decided to focus on 3 issues:
Food accessibility (for people with disabilities, children, and adults).
Food waste (private and public consumption).
Nutrition and pets.
Who did we interview?
- Rina, 48 years old, a district nutritionist at a health fund for over 10 years.
- Sigalit, 45 years old, mother of a low-functioning autistic girl.
- Shawn, 26 years old, high-functioning autistic who gets around in a wheelchair.
- Roni, 42, has been in charge of the supply system for the Dizengoff Cafe restaurant in Tel Aviv for 5.5 years.
- Adi, 25 years old, dog trainer, three years in the field.
- Noam, 35 years old, dog trainer, 6 years in the field.
Pain points that emerged from the interviews in each subject:
Food accessibility:
Picky eating, mainly in children on the continuum.
Malnutrition in adults is caused by depression and loneliness.
Accessibility problem at the supermarkets.
Eating without an arranged table and eating liquid and dirtying food among people with physical disabilities.
Food waste:
Making supply orders with a "no shortage" approach.
Food that remains is not channeled further and thrown away.
Physical accessibility to food for people who do not live in the city.
Nutrition and pets:
Most of the time, the pet owners create the problem with their pet's diet.
Overweight in pets.
Lack of control in eating from the floor.
Food pickiness in pets.
Keeping the pet's food fresh for a long time.
Here you can see us very happy that we were chosen to be together as a group :)
